Seasonal food and drink

In high summer the palace opens a gelato and drinks bar in Fountain Court, usually Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00 and weather permitting, serving Hackney Gelato alongside chilled Pimm's, Meantime lager, soft drinks and bottled water. A weekend BBQ runs on selected Saturdays in August, and ice cream carts appear around the grounds through the warmer months.

Picnics in the gardens

You are welcome to bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy it in the palace gardens, which have plenty of space even on busy weekends. To protect the historic interiors, food and drink is not allowed within the confines of any of the buildings except in designated areas.

Allergies and dietary requirements

Staff can provide allergen information on the 14 major allergens: lupin, mustard, molluscs, nuts, peanuts, crustaceans, fish, egg, celery, sulphur dioxide, soybean, milk, sesame and gluten. An allergen folder is available on request. Dishes are prepared in kitchens that are not totally free from allergen ingredients, so cross-contamination cannot be fully guaranteed.

Sourcing and sustainability

Catering at the palace focuses on reducing food waste, using a green supply chain, sourcing seasonal ingredients from local suppliers through the "London larder" network, and expanding the plant-based offer.

Save when you spend

London Pass holders save 10 per cent in all the palace shops on presentation of their pass, and Historic Royal Palaces members save 10 per cent in the shops and in the cafes and restaurants with a valid membership card.
